Developing Countries Gain Internet Access with...

 
Communities around the world without adequate Internet access are now one step closer to web content thanks to the WiderNet Project, a collaboration between Intel and the University of Iowa. Intel will sponsor a platform allowing local users to easily add content to an eGranary Digital library, an off-line collection of over 1,200 Web sites and CD-ROMs that provides Internet-like services over local area networks at speeds thousands of times faster than typical Internet connections.
