In a White House ceremony today, Intel CEO Paul Otellini accepted the President's Volunteer Service Award for Intel's broad efforts in volunteerism. President George W. Bush noted that Intel is marking its 40th anniversary this year and "could have chosen to mark this occasion by simply looking back on its four decades of impressive accomplishments, but instead, as a result of Paul's leadership, the company has chosen to celebrate with a great act of compassion: Intel has committed to one million hours of volunteer service by its employees."
