Intel Announces Atom Processor Brand

  
Intel has just announced a new brand name -- The Intel® Atom™ processor - for a new family of ultra-small, low-power chips for Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and simple, affordable Internet-centric computers. This tiny yet powerful chip --Intel's smallest built with the world's smallest 45nm transistors---forms the foundation for a new class of Internet devices. Intel also announced the Intel® Centrino® Atom™ processor technology brand for MID platforms, consisting of multiple chips that enable the best Internet experience in a pocketable device.
