Supercomputers like Intel Core, and Multicores

 
On the day that Intel launched its latest family of Intel® Core™ microarchitecture based server chips, the world's Top500 list of supercomputers showed that a total of 354 of these powerful systems are based on Intel processors, up from 289 in June and exceeding Intel's all time high of 333 in November 2005. Of those, 317 (!) are based on Intel Core microarchitecture, up 65 systems in just six months. Intel's quad-core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5300 Series showed the biggest jump, going from 19 to 102.
