At the IDC Virtualization 2.0 Forum today, Intel's Lorie Wigle said the company is collaborating with VMware on optimizing Intel's forthcoming 45 nanometer Xeon processors and Intel Virtualization Technology (VT) FlexMigration assist for virtualized environments. Intel's FlexMigration enables virtualized workloads to be allocated dynamically across different generations of Xeon processors. Virtualization has become an increasingly important feature of today's data center. And, through the companies' continued collaboration, IT managers today can accelerate the deployment of virtualized infrastructures using VMware VMotion, enabling customers to dynamically allocate virtual machines across the data center among quad-core Intel Xeon processors.
